A President’s Message by Kathleen Hawkins

As I ponder the member retention, growth and overall WOAMTEC membership statistics each week, I have to stop and wonder what makes one chapter more successful than the other? Is it the personality and skills of the leader, location of the chapter or the diversity of the attendees? Perhaps all three, but how come one chapter has lots of members attending , another lots of guests and another possibly not many attendees at all.

Though all 10 (soon to be 12!) of our WOAMTEC Women’s networking chapters are successful. I believe it has a lot to do with the energy and charisma of the group and the relationships people are forming within that chapter. What kind of synergy are you putting out? What type of dynamics are you creating in your chapter?

All to often, I see women coming to our networking luncheons with cards in their hand ready to tell the world what they need from them. Surviving 2009

A President’s Message by Kathleen Hawkins

Being multi-tasking Moms, most of us would consider ourselves flexible. I don’t mean doing back bends, but if you can…good for you! I am talking about being able to shift gears, adapt, go with the flow apply critical thinking skills to each step along the way. With everything occurring in our society, today, you have to be able to react quickly, switch up your style, shift gears with your business in order to survive.

With the forecast of doom and gloom on the news, life can be depressing. As much as we would all like to run and hide, I don’t think that is an option. So what is your plan? What are you doing to stay flexible?

How about staying positive? If you stay adaptable and focused with faith on your side you can and will prevail. WOAMTEC is a premier networking group for women with a mission of helping you grow personally, professionally and socially. If you ask yourself, “can I afford to go to this networking luncheon?” Answer yourself, “can I afford not too?” Surround yourself with positive, enthusiastic women who will embrace you, empower you, brainstorm alternatives with you, help give you strength. This is more important now, than ever before.

When you are struggling to pay bills, fighting for customers, and praying for miracles, remember 2009 is going to be a challenging year for everyone, the key lies in how you handle the adversity. Let WOAMTEC help you.

Yes, that’s right…WOAMTEC is on a new mission - to expand from Central Florida and launch professional networking chapters all over the United States. The corporate office has been receiving phone calls, emails and personal recommendations from current WOAMTEC members, to launch new chapters in places like Debary, Atlanta, Tampa, North Carolina and South Florida.

WOAMTEC is actively interviewing professional business women in these areas who have embraced the WOAMTEC philosophy of Faith, Family and Career and are ready to take their networking to the next level, by creating WOAMTEC chapters in their area.

If you know of any proactive, professional women, who may be interested in launching WOAMTEC in their area, please have them contact:

Jennifer Lee , National Training And Development Director at jennifer.lee@woamtec.com.
