[SinglePic not found]Debary Chapter Members team up to raise money

Orlando, FL —- Andi Whitten, Director of the Women on a Mission to Earn Commission (WOAMTEC) Debary chapter, presented a check for $915 to Zoe Peterson, Special Events/Volunteer Coordinator of the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home (FUMCH) during a luncheon on Thursday, August 20. The money was raised during an August 4 event sponsored by WOAMTEC, a premier business building organization for women, and hosted by the Debary Golf and Country Club. Fifty-eight attendees, including 18 WOAMTEC members and their families and friends, paid $5 each to take part in a Pilates class led by Gale Kohler, a fitness instructor and WOAMTEC member, followed by a buffet dinner. Additional donations were raised through drink sales, individual donations, and a $100 donation from the Swamphouse Grill.

FUMCH cares for children who cannot live with their families as the result of sexual or physical abuse, abandonment or because of family breakdown due to divorce, drug abuse, illness or death of a parent.

Approximately 85 percent of the Home’s funding comes through private donations.

WOAMTEC’s Mission is to help women grow their businesses while maintaining their priorities of faith, family and career,” notes Whitten. “Our members are committed to giving back to their communities, and we think the Children’s Home is an extremely worthwhile cause.”

WOAMTEC - Winter Springs Chapter walks to Cure Cystic Fibrosis

[SinglePic not found]
They we were few, but it only takes a few to make a BIG difference, especially when it comes to raising awareness and money for a good cause. Over the past several months, the Winter Springs, FL WOAMTEC chapter has been raising money to support the “WOAMTEC Walkers” team participating in the Annual UCF Great Strides walk to raise money the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

[SinglePic not found]
Led by WOAMTEC Executive Director Jennifer Lee, the 5 member team included Wanda Ivonne Gutierrez, Jean Bruckert, Mary Lou Caskey and husband Keith Caskey. The team walked the  5K course around the University of Central Florida campus in just under an hour and somehow they picked up a 6th participant at the very end. “Little Evan helped us cross the finish line, he was so excited for every team”, stated Lee.

Total money raised by the walkers and the other chapter members was just over $700.

Thank fully, donations are still pouring in!
